Business Summit for High School Girls Draws Capacity Crowd

Attendance at the 4th Annual Business Education and Career Day held at Rutgers Business School in Newark drew a capacity audience of students, parents and school guidance counselors.  

Welcoming the capacity crowd, co-sponsor and Founder of the Garden State Woman Education Foundation, Judy Chapman was joined by Sangeeta Rao, PhD, Dean of Mentoring at the Rutgers Newark Business Schools.

Opening remarks by Keynote Speaker, Jyoti Singhvi, CEO of JYOTI Couture Jewelry, emphasized the importance of planning for the future they dream about.   Having a career to provide financial security is necessary for them to have personal freedom. Women from a variety of businesses participated on two panels – sharing personal and professional experiences.

Mary Poppins continues its run now through December 11 in the Lackland Performing Arts Center. This “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” musical adventure is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, astonishing stagecraft and a live orchestra. Centenary Stage Company’s Family Holiday Musical not only signifies the start of the holiday season for many but celebrates all of Centenary Stage Company’s programming by combining local regional talent, CSC staff, Centenary University Theatre Department faculty and students, Young Performers Workshop students and professional guest artists.


GSW Education Foundation (GSWEF) and Oasis Host Teen Girls Leadership/Success Summit

As the Zumba music filled the parking lot, teenage girls from the Paterson area gathered for the Second Annual Leadership and Success Summit sponsored by Garden State Woman Education Foundation (GSWEF) and Oasis, a resource for women and children in Paterson.  The all-day event was held on Saturday, September 10 at the Oasis facility in Paterson.
Welcomed by GSWEF Founder, Judy Chapman, the opening Keynote was delivered by Assembly Woman Shavonda Sumter (photo) who represents the 35th Legislative District, Assembly Majority Conference Leader. Growing up in the area, she was able to share her story of success with the audience.
